Everyone loves a good celebrity romance. Lord knows, I spent a lot of 5th grade obsessing over the relationship between Zac Efron and Vanessa Hudgens. But how many celeb relationships are real and how many were just a creation by their PR team (or “PRomance)? I’ve compiled a quick list of what I think were the most fake relationships in Hollywood.

Katie Holmes and Tom Cruise

Oh yeah, TomKat was super fake. They were only dating two months before he proposed (on top of the Eiffel Tower no less, how cliche). That’s a long enough time to make sure the media knows you’re committed yet brief enough for them not to have lost interest. Then there was the whole Tom Cruise jumping on Oprah’s couch thing, which is probably his best acting role of all time. Four months later Katie was pregnant with Suri Cruise (again a brief yet believable time to be engaged before moving on to the next level) and they got married a year later. There’s a lot of rumors, starting from Cruise being gay and Holmes being his beard to the marriage contract. Yes, that’s right, there was a rumor going around that after Cruise and Nicole Kidman split, he went around Hollywood approaching young actresses with a marriage contract of five years, that promised a career boost, cash, and a bonus for a child. How long did their marriage last you ask? 5 years. The proof is in the pudding, folks.

Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson

There’s a lot of evidence working against these two: the fact that paparazzi pictures of them didn’t start appearing until after Twilight became the sensation it did, the fact that they never even confirmed the relationship until the whole “affair with the director” thing happened (the perfect drama to regain interest), and their incredibly brief reconciliation after that. Both seemed pretty uninterested in their PRomance, doing the bare minimum of occasional pictures and I think not confirming was a reflection of that. Then there’s the fact that she ended the relationship because “it wasn’t real life anymore.” Yeah, no kidding.

Kaley Cuoco and Henry Cavill

Honestly, I had never even heard of this one until I started research for this article, so clearly their PR wasn’t too invested in this one. Their relationship was first “confirmed” when pictures of them shopping for groceries and holding hands together appeared. Magazines and tabloids called bullshit and a week later they had “broken up.” Literally, only a week later. Did you guys even try? And when was this week of dating you ask? Right when “Man of Steel” was first released. I rest my case.

Kim Kardashian and Kris Humphries

They had only been together a few months before their ridiculously publicized fairytale wedding. They stayed married for 72 days, all of which were covered on “Keeping Up With the Kardashians.” Need I say more?

Taylor Swift and Tom Hiddleston

Clearly, someone on Hiddleston’s team wanted a really big promotion and cashed in a giant favor over at Swift’s team. The little bump this “relationship” gave him put him into the running for the next James Bond. I doubt it did anything for Swift but whatever, he was the one putting in the work, wearing an “I Love T.S.” shirt and looking happy and smiley in pictures while she just phones it. They were stalked by the paparazzi at new levels and all of their photo ops seemed like something their teams came up with after falling asleep during an ABC Family rom com marathon (romantic trip to Rome and long walk on the beach, come on guys, you’re more creative than that). Especially since this all occurred two weeks after her breakup with longtime boyfriend Calvin Harris, I’m calling bullshit.

Taylor Swift and Drake

I mean they make more sense than Taylor and Tom, but I mean, come on…I think this is just some kind of fucked up plan of Drake’s to enact revenge on Rihanna.

There are so many more, but these are the ones I personally find the most egregiously fake. But I’m sure there’s some I missed, so feel free to comment below!
