Because there’s nothing better than a seemingly unoriginal cash grab!

Buckle up Millennial/Gen Z cusps: there’s more High School Musical coming out, only this time in the form of a TV series. Titled High School Musical: The Musical (no, I’m not kidding), the series will be a mockumentary-style show à la The Office or Parks & Recreation that follows a group of high school kids performing the stage musical version of High School Musical.

But even worse than that horrible title is the fact that based off the recently released press release for the show, this show isn’t even for the generation that made High School Musical the massive hit that it was. Instead, based off these character descriptions that read like they were written by a trendy bot, it’s clear that this is a show for Gen Z and … whatever generation that comes after it (Gen AA?).

And not only will each episode include an original High School Musical number, but there will be (presumably lame) original music too, I guess to make that extra iTunes money. We love late-stage capitalism and all the joys it brings!!!

So yeah, read these character descriptions and sigh over how old you’re getting and how much your lower back has been aching lately and since when did you start getting tired at 9 p.m.?
