Local Answers: Favorite Summer Power Couple
Pete Davidson and Ariana Grande. Nick Jonas and Priyanka Chopra. Hailey Baldwin and Justin Bieber. This summer was all about the too fast, too serious power couple. So, Local decided to share and discuss who our own favorites were from this summer. Check out our answers below:

Ali Golub, Staff Writer: Dominic Cooper and Gemma Chan. All that hotness, that style, that talent in one couple. It’s so powerful it’s practically spiritual. Also I should include Brenda Song and Macaulay Culkin just for the sheer randomness of it.
Graham Dunn, Staff Writer: Ariana and Pete. Just cause it was the only couple I knew about.
Izzie Ramirez, City Editor: Me and Charli XCX. That is not my serious answer. My real answer is Kevin Abstract and Jaden Walker because they’re cute as fuck. I wanna be a Brock. Do you think if I do a 30 min cover of “Lamb” I can be their third wheel?
Kush D, Staff Writer: I don’t wanna repeat but I agree with Kevin and Jaden. They’re royalty. And if you do a 30 min cover of “Lamb” you should be allowed in any social group.
Zoe Haylock, Co-EIC: Ugh, Bey and Jay were also my couple. So then King Princess and Amandla Stenberg. They both go so hard supporting each other’s work. They’re passionate and young and just want to have fun but also so hard working. Not to mention hot as fuck.
Kevin Weiskirch, Staff Writer: I’ll say Troye Sivan and his boyfriend because “Bloom” is the romantic queer pop album the gays deserved. Or also Pete and Ariana for gracing us with the concept of Big Dick Energy. Or also already Lady Gaga and Bradley Cooper for getting my Mother Oscar buzz. Or also Janelle Monae and Tessa Thompson* because Dirty Computer is a Masterpiece.
Jendayi Omowale, Staff Writer: Actually, yeah I also have to go with Janelle Monae and Tessa Thompson. One because Dirty Computer>>> two because both of them had great years re: Dirty Computer and Sorry to Bother You.
Elli Hu, Special Projects Manager: Can my favorite couple be Cynthia Nixon and her crazy bagel order? Or is that too meme-y? Oh no it’s me and my Nalgene water bottle who has been by my side through several parties, who I lost at several events, but somehow always found again. My truest love.
Arimeta Diop, Co-EIC: My favorite summer couple second only to Amandla and King Princess (who I honestly want to be in a throuple with) was MoviePass and people who live in areas with $17 movie tickets. RIP to that relationship.
Catie Brown, Staff Writer: I didn’t follow any summer celeb news but Barack and Michelle are always a fav couple (Editor’s Note: We’ll count it because of their recently announced Netflix deal).
