Not to be like, DRAMA ALERT. But also… DRAMA ALERT.

Micheal Rectenwald, who we profiled earlier this year, is a communist… allegedly. He’s also made a name for himself railing against identity politics. And now he’s become buddies with the NYU College Republicans, who lately have been drifting more into causing-a-scene-ism rather than conservatism. It’s a confusing match made in confusing heaven.

Rectenwald also made a surprise appearance at Thursday night’s Gavin McInnes speech after being invited to talk at their meeting a couple weeks ago. The night was cut short after protests by NYU Anti-Fascists inside Kimmel and NYC Antifa outside of Kimmel. Rectenwald was vocal about his displeasure at the protests and was caught on our Periscope of the event saying “What did you say? Fuck off! You’re a fucking twit!” to a student protester towards the end of the event.

In the following days, his anger spilled onto Twitter where Rectenwald and the NYU Anti-Fascists have been beefing for a couple days. Take a look for yourself:

We can’t believe it’s 2017 and we’re writing about the Twitter bickering of NYU Anti-Fascists — whose description on Facebook reads “NYU students against bigotry, racism, homophobia, transphobia, misogyny on our campus” — and an NYU professor who despite being a “communist” has thoroughly aligned himself with the “anti-safe space” and “anti-SJW” rhetoric of the alt-right. But here we are y’all!!!!!!
