New, Pre-Pubescent Competition for the Dining Section


Beware, Frank Bruni - there is a new critic in town. The New York Times reported that David Fishman might soon be a famous name in the food world. All right, maybe not that soon; he might need to finish middle school first.

Twelve-year-old Fishman of the Upper West hopes to be a writer for Zagat. On one of the opening nights of Salumeria Rosi, a new Italian restaurant on Amsterdam Avenue near 73rd street, Fishman was there with notebook in hand. Instead of ordering food from the local hummus place when his parents called to say they would be running late, Fishman decided he wanted to try out the new and intriguing Italian restaurant near by.
