There were no Street Scenes for two months, perhaps because the disgusting weather has brought fashion to its knees—torture by puffy coats and generic scarves. So when the weather warmed up to the satisfying 60s at the end of last week, this bit of sunshine was a warm welcome back to the season where you can’t hide under a parka.

When we approached Lisa, she proclaimed how she had a hard time trying to make parts of her ensemble match with each other. Well, it worked! Sometimes it’s the the overall feel that catches an eye. In this case, Lisa’s truly international mix of different pieces came well together to form a coordinated ensemble that’s absolutely striking.

Points for pairing a pretty dress with a tough leather jacket. Black tones paired with brown tones gives out that that rocker vibe, yet is still subtly chic and elegant.

I just love things in pairs. Hugging salt & pepper shakers sold for ten bucks in union square, finger-exposing mittens, toe socks, dangly earrings, dangerous heels, mushy couples that take up the entire sidewalk making out…

Well. Maybe not everything.

But back to good pairs. Like awesome fashionable friends who visit each other on their breaks. Like Stephanie and Rachel, who looked so cute we were scared to approach them.

Rachel, who actually goes to Texas Christian University came up to see her girl Stephanie, the NYU-er. South meets North. And both looking incredible. Ahh yes. Change is coming to America…
