NYTimes New Lens Series: Night Shift

The New York Times has just started it new Lens series, titled Night Shift, and photographer Michelle V. Agins has captured the late-night shift for most working New Yorkers.  For the first in the series, which will come out with a new image each week for the next three months, we get a peek into the Natural History Museum after hours.  The grand spacious Ocean Room (as I dub it) looks so gray and lonely – almost archaic – very unlike the daytime scene of children running around.  I think it’s great the the Times decided to mix it up, since the last series, Neighbors, was so vibrant with color.  This helps to remind us of the quieter corners and the forgotten characters of New York.
