Urinetown: The Musical, the four-time Tony Award-winning production created by Mark Hollman and Greg Kotis, is coming to NYU’s Black Box Theater in two weeks! The completely student-run production, put together by NYU’s Players Club, slams together Broadway’s greatest shows (such as Les Misérables, West Side Story, The Cradle Will Rock, and Fiddler on the Roof) with political wrongdoings of the Western and Eastern worlds. The satirical musical, which utilizes “paying-in-order-to-pee” as its main plot line, manages to keep the mood light while dealing with complex issues such as social irresponsibility, greedy corporations, and class warfare.
Tickets can be purchased at Ticket Central and OvationTix, available in-person, online, or over the phone. Tickets cost $5 for students and $8 for general admission. The performances are at 8pm on Friday the 15th and Saturday the 16th, as well as, at 3pm on Saturday and Sunday the 17th at the Black Box Theater in Pless Hall (located at 82 Washington Square East).
