When NYU Local was born on the Internet in 2008, we never imagined we’d see our logo printed on paper, much less the glossy cover of a first magazine issue.
But we’ve grown a lot in four years, and so have our ideas of what we can bring to you, our dear readers. We’re proud to present the product of our first big experiment in print. This issue is full of guides, lists and features essential to life at NYU–everything we wish we knew when we first arrived at this unusual university of ours. There’s everything from a rock venue guide to a gay athlete’s coming out story to a few NYU Local classics like a cut-out Gallatin Bingo board. There’s a student smoker’s handbook and an introvert’s advice for navigating NYU social life. We even got JSex to answer a modified Proust questionnaire.
Check out the full table of contents below and a few preview pages, and look for copies of the magazine around campus. You might just find one slipped under your dorm room door.
