Take A Bite Out of Fashion: Fall Trends Inspired By Food

The fall season is just around the corner and it’s time to get your wardrobe ready. New trends are appearing in the fashion world. For starters, expect less flowy, shapeless pieces and more geometric, sleek pieces. Everything has started to maintain a minimalistic and simple vibe, so try to stay away from over-accessorizing and let your outfits speak for themselves this season.

What are the big colors this year, though? Fashion Week is almost over, and we thought we’d give you a taste of what’s in store for this autumn. All of the big colors in fashion this fall are inspired some food favorites. Food and fashion can work together, right?

Red Apple

Bright red is the bold color of the moment. Celebrities are embracing the intense color by pairing it with black. This combination creates for a sultry-yet-stylish look. Don’t be scared to go for a darker red as well. Deep burgundy and burnt red are on the rise.

Mustard Yellow

Before we tell you why this color is going to be a hot trend this fall, let’s first admit that, at one point or another, we all thought mustard yellow was the ugliest color alive. Yellow is a color that transcends through every season, but this autumn, mustard yellow is capital-H Hot within fashion. Mandy Moore’s dress is a perfect example of how to work the shade of yellow into your wardrobe. Pair it with a cute jacket, cardigan, accessory, and it’ll balance out the pungency of the mustard color.

Eggplant

This deep, rich purple color has become a sensation lately. Since it is a darker quality of purple, it can offer a certain sophisticated touch. Its versatility allows it to be worn casually as well. The color ability to balance against any skin tone is what has made it so successful.

Peach

Every season, we see these bold colors take center stage in fashion. Different shades of peach are popping up in celebrity dresses lately. Keira Knightley wore the soft peach color to the Anna Karenina premiere. Naomi Campbell also sported a brighter shade of the color while walking down the runway. Look out for peach to be the light color of autumn that will contrast with all the bold colors.

Leafy Greens

It’s often said that, when eating greens, the darker they come, the better for you. The same goes for fashion this fall. Expect to see waves of hunter green and emerald clothing become a sensation. Green is usually not a popular color in the autumn season, but since the color hasn’t surfaced in high fashion for a while, it’s bound to make a comeback.

Velvet Cake

The warmth of the smooth velvet fabric is perfect for any autumn outfit. Velvet can be tricky, though, so make sure not to clash when you spend your cash. Although we love red velvet cupcakes, don’t mix the bright red color with the velvet fabric unless you want your Halloween costume to be Santa Claus.

Fashion Week may be over, but fall fashion is just beginning. There will be colors, there will be double-takes on the street. Stay tuned for more fashion analysis and opinion!
