This weekend marked the EMP Museum’s Sounds of the City Pop Conference. The four day event included speakers such as Santigold, The GZA, and MC Heems of Das Racist. Topics were covered from “ragtime to hip-hop to ‘Warhol’s New York.’” On Sunday evening, Questlove closed out the amazing conference with a talk on vinyl and record collecting. This marks the second time that Questlove has graced NYU with a glorious talk, and this one proved to be just as fascinating and informative as his previous lecture on Stevie Wonder. He provided the audience with a list of some of his favorite records, and we’ve laid them out here for your future listening pleasure.
