NYU Staff Members Must Say Goodbye to Free Tuition

In an attempt to scale back the budget, NYU has decided to revoke full tuition remission from its staff. Any staff member that makes over $50,000 a year will now have to pay 10% of the cost of a graduate degree or tuition for any dependent children. “The figure was chosen carefully because NYU’s biggest expense is personnel,” reports WSN. Those affected are none too happy, most specifically with the way NYU handled the change. The university was reportedly not very forthcoming, and buried the news within a couple of those long, rambling e-mails. Not surprising, considering how far down in those Sexton e-mails we always have to read to get to the part where they hike up tuition again. Let’s just say NYU does seem to enjoy burying the lede.

    1. May I know how many years do we have to work for NYU in order to have a 90% tuition free for dependent?

    2. Pharmacist’s dependents are included in tuition free?

    3. Out patient clinic physician’s dependents are included in tuition free program?

    4. If we work for Columbia Hospital, how much we can claim for tuition fee?

    Thanks
