Tired of waking up your roommate every time you and your significant other get at it? Want some privacy without sacrificing traditional dorm culture? Well, according to the WSN, NYU is allowing students to rent a room at Greenwich Hotel for $15 a night for up to two consecutive nights. That’s cheaper than most motels in Las Vegas. No, seriously.
Of course, there’s a catch. The policy only really applies to NYU commuters, often tired of heading back home after a long night of a) meetings and studying in Bobst, and b) drinking enough for the parents to smell.
WSN also reports that commuters would have to notify G-Ho management by noon of the day they planned to reserve a room, and check-in between 5 and 11 p.m. The available rooms were previously “used exclusively for traveling staff and faculty and were opened to commuters during finals week.”
We know the policy technically only applies to commuters, but we would love to see a non-commuter student try to stretch that. Here’s something to keep in mind: Greenwich Hotel is only a few blocks away from Cubbyhole and Stonewall Inn. Just saying.
