Titus Andronicus (the band, not the Shakespeare play), The Beets (the band, but not from Doug) and Algernon Cadwallader (uh, apparently the name of the first resident of Yardley, PA) will be performing at Kimmel’s E&L auditorium Wednesday night, thanks to the kind people at NYU’s Program Board.
Buy tickets at Ticket Central in Skirball. NYU kids pay a measly $5, and non-NYUers can pick up tickets for $8 a piece. Doors open at 7.30pm and the first band goes on at 8pm. The show should wrap up by 10.30pm, so the fact it is a “school night” shouldn’t hold anyone back (ha — like it ever has before?).
It is the last NYU-organized concert of the semester, but oddly enough it’s the first to be hosted in an NYU building (Le Poisson Rouge deputized for the Mystery Concert and Punk Rock Showcase). If you haven’t heard any of the bands, check out their respective MySpace pages here, here and here to familiarize yourself with their songs.
