Nora Ephron and Spike Lee to Speak at NYU J School

According to a press release issued today, screenwriter and director Nora Ephron (When Harry Met Sally, Julie & Julia) and Tisch grad and director Spike Lee (Do the Right Thing, 25 Hours) are slated to take part in the J-School’s “Primary Sources” conversation series. Ephron will be speaking from 3-4pm with former NY Post and NY Daily News editor-in-chief Peter Hamill on November 10th. Lee will speak with writer and composer James McBride on November 12th from 2-3pm. More information, plus the full press release, after the jump.

Nora Ephron, Spike Lee in NYU’s Journalism Institute’s “Primary Sources” Series, Nov. 10 and 12

Nora Ephron and Spike Lee will be featured in “Primary Sources,” a series of conversations at New York University’s Arthur L. Carter Journalism Institute (20 Cooper Square, between 5th and 6th Streets, 7th Floor) on November 10 and November 12. Both events are free and open to the public. Call 212.998.8044 for more information. Photo ID required for entry. Seating is on a first-come, first-served basis.

Ephron, who most recently directed “Julie & Julia,” will speak with Pete Hamill, who served as editor-in-chief of both the New York Post and the New York Daily News and is now a distinguished writer-in-residence at the Institute, on Tuesday, November 10, 3-4 p.m.

Lee, an alumnus of NYU’s Tisch School of the Arts as well as artistic director of the Graduate Film program and the Amy and Joseph Perella Chair in the Maurice Kanbar Institute of Film & Television, will speak with James McBride, a writer and composer whose books include the memoir The Color of Water and the novel Miracle at St. Anna, which Lee made into a feature-length film, on Thursday, November 12, 2-3 p.m. McBride is a distinguished writer-in-residence at the Institute.
