First snow download.JPG” alt=”IMG_0299″ width=”262″ height=”349″ />I walked into my advertising class last week to find one of my classmates (left) brutally burnt and beaten. She’d had a fight with her boyfriend a few nights before and, after smacking her around some, the asshole tried to burn her bare skin with his lighter. Lucky for said classmate, she had advanced ninja skills and used them to regain her composure, beat him down, and stopped his heart “Kill Bill” style.
Or that’s a lie and the blood-spackled girl in question had just come from special effects makeup class still covered in the day’s lesson.
If you chose option two, congratulations, you’re not a moron. The bruises, cuts and all around nastiness weren’t so much the result of a ninja fight with a psychotic boyfriend as the teachings of NYU alum Rob Benevides. Every tuesday, Benevides teaches a Tisch open arts class that leaves its participants fully equipped in the art of putting together the most badass Halloween costumes ever. And for only $700– in addition to the standard fee for a four credit class, of course– you too can learn to cover yourself in synthetic burn wounds!
Not convinced yet? I’ve got two words for you: zombie skulls. You’ll learn how to make them. By the time you’ve checked out more pictures of severely “beaten” students and zombie skulls after the jump, you’ll be reconsidering that econ class you were going to sign up for next semester.

Agree with the comment above: scary at first, but then Halloween-scary after that! A “scary” rhyme for it here: NYC Rhymology: make-up class/made of glass

This is awesome. Also, I actually believed your story of domestic abuse at first.
I don’t know.
