The piano-playing, Jack White-collaborating singer-songwriter is going to be performing at the Skirball Center this coming Wednesday. A moderated Q&A will follow the performance. The kicker? Although the concert’s free, it’s only open to Tischies. If you’re among those, then you have already received or will receive an email explaining how to snag your free ticket. If not, here they are:
STEP 1: Pick up a voucher at 194 Mercer Street (between Bleecker and Houston,
across from Coles), 5th floor, front desk during weekday business hours. The
latest you can pick up your voucher is Tuesday October 20 at 5 pm.
You must bring three things: 1) a NYU ID, 2) a current printout of your Albert
course schedule for verification of your Tisch status, and 3) a copy of this
email. If you do not bring these three items you will not be given a voucher.
Each voucher is good for one ticket. One voucher per unique NYU ID. This email
invitation is not transferable.
STEP 2: Walk that voucher over to The Skirball Center box office (566 LaGuardia
Place at Washington Place) between 4:00 pm and 6:30 pm on Wed October 21st. At
the box office, during that brief window of time, you will redeem your voucher
for a hard ticket. Even with a voucher you are not guaranteed admission; tickets
are given away on a first come first served basis.
Any tickets that are not picked up by 6:30 pm on the 21st will be given away and
you will lose your opportunity to redeem your voucher.STEP 3: Arrive to the show on Wed Oct 21st at exactly 7 pm; that is when doors
open, so you can be seated. ABSOLUTELY NO LATECOMERS WILL BE ADMITTED. It is
very important that you arrive at 7 pm on the dot.

I got the same e-mail but it was directed towards Gallatin students (I’m in Gallatin). I’m also pretty sure the e-mail stated that the concert was open to all NYU students, but I could be mistaken on that.
