Yesterday, President George W. Bush greeted Barack Obama at the White House, to discuss plans for the transition. And oh, to be a fly on the wall during that conversation. For all the media hyperventilating about how “awkward” this meeting was bound to be, I’m more interested in hearing what pieces of sage wisdom the current president decided to transmit to his successor.
Also, am I the only one who can’t look at a picture of the two of them together without thinking of this classic Onion article?
In other news, the president is now actually less popular than Nixon was when he resigned. So if the country gets invited to the White House any time in the next 70 days, expect that to be really awkward.
