I know it will be said that I’m overreacting, or that I should have just ignored this post if I found it offensive, or worse, that I’m a Republican. But Sarah Palin’s candidacy has nothing to do with her sexuality. Political satire is fine, but I didn’t see any candidates but Senator Clinton and Palin subjected to degrading, sexual jokes. It’s already been a repulsively sexist election season, and stuff like this does not help.

Personal appearance and the sexual connotations it leads to become more important, not less, when you become a public figure and run for office. The President and Vice President are the heads of the United States, they are it’s representatives, how they physically look and choose to dress themselves has a tremendous influence on how they interact with other nations and the public. Their positions on Issues are clearly more important but we are denying reality if we write off sexuality as a non-issue we should be ‘above’ .

Yes, you can parse words, but when Sarah Palin can’t call anti-abortionist killers domestic terrorists, you have a vice-presidential candidate who – along with her support for the secessionist and neo-Confederate Alaskan Independence Party – is indeed a true supporter of domestic terrorism and anti-American activities.

Murderers of medical personnel and clinic staffs who provide abortion have websites, as you know, with lists of names of people – primarily doctors – to be shot. When Brian Williams of NBC asked Palin if such murderers were domestic terrorists she danced around the question by first, yet again, bringing up Bill Ayers and then – while she had time to think about how to code her support of the anti-abortion killers – deny that they were terrorists.

This is perhaps the most underreported (except for some Internet sites), shocking, and threatening to U.S. security exchange of the election (along with the widely overlooked and documented strong relationship between the anti-U.S. Alaskan Independence Party secessionists and the Palins).

Palin begins her answer with an exasperated sigh, recites her Ayers talking points for the 1000th time, and then finally returns to the question by using coded words that are well known to violent anti-abortion extremists. She “sort of, maybe” finds the killing of “innocents” not right, but she says firmly “I don’t know if you are going to use the word terrorist there.” And, be reminded, that to the criminal anti-abortion fringe, doctors and nurses who perform abortions are not “innocent Americans”; they are murderers to the likes of Sarah Palin.

This is no hyperbolic rant on the part of BuzzFlash. This is an extraordinary danger sign that we have a potential president – given the state of McCain’s health – who is sympathetic to the murder of healthcare professionals who support abortion.

Yes, some people may give Palin the benefit of the doubt on this one, but are doing so at grave risk to the rule of law and the enabling of murder. For us to write this blog will sound “over the top” to some, but just look at what Palin says and how she says it, and read the violent anti-abortion sites to know what she means by “innocents.”

She does not consider conspiratorial murderers of Americans for a political cause terrorists. That should disqualify her from holding any elective office in the United States and put her on a watch list.

She’s a former beauty queen, a “hockey mom”, a governor, and now a VP candidate. Was she ever a cheerleader? A secretary? Basically a Palin porno encompasses every porn category out there. Fair dues to Hustler. I’m just surprised Joe the Plumber isn’t apart of this, but maybe that’s the sequel.

And tasteless porn? Can someone point me to a classy porn site?

Right, I know there is way more sexist content out there and that Hustler has the right to make this clip. But if we agree it’s tasteless, then why post it? Even if the video’s existence is newsworthy, it could be covered without posting a clip.

My point was that we’ve seen some really vile sexist attacks on candidates over the last two years, and it really illustrates a double standard, as Justin pointed out. No need to continue that trend on NYULocal, which I consider a pretty progressive site.
