Over at TAPPED, Tim Fernholz has a good roundup of the ads that the Obama and McCain campaigns are running in the aftermath of the second debate. Above is Obama’s. Does it seem familiar?
It should. Remember this moment?
So not only did an almost identical exchange play itself out in both debates, but the Obama campaign cut both exchanges into two almost identical ads. I guess they really want to drive this home, but it’s not the sort of thing you see in a 30-second ad every day.
On the other hand, this offering from the McCain campaign isn’t something you see every day either:
I’m not sure what the McCain campaign is trying to accomplish here. They’re not even bothering to argue with the substance of what Obama said–they’re just that, true or not, his remarks are uncivil. But who gives a shit as long as it’s true? And who the hell is Steve Schmidt to talk about civility?
