What has McCain been up to since he suspended his campaign yesterday? Let’s run down the list.
- Shortly before making the official announcement, he was meeting with a wealthy former Clinton supporter.
- When McCain cancelled his Letterman appearance, he appeared with Katie Couric instead.
- Palin got scheduled to stump in PA, a major swing state.
- McCain delivered a speech at the Clinton Global Initiative.
- The ostensibly inactive campaign drafted talking points and deployed surrogates to the major networks.
- The campaign has continued to air attack ads in swing states. Though, as Josh Marshall points out, that might not be their fault.
