John Mayer Taking An “Indefinite” Break From Live Performing, We Are Sad

It seems that John Mayer has unfortunately come down with a little case of “the Adeles” and has decided to stop performing for a long time. The “Daughters” singer took to his sporadically updated Tumblr to tell his fans that he “no choice but to take an indefinite break from live performing” because of a granuloma growth on his vocal chords.

Mayer’s new album “Born And Raised” is still slated to come out in late May, but if you can’t seem to figure out how to go on in a John Mayer-less world until then, we’ve got some options for you.

Jimmy Fallon’s impression of Mayer’s smoky voice is pretty legendary. It’s worth a watch.

John Mayer and Kanye once recorded an unreleased song together called “Bittersweet.” It’s really good, but not as good as this behind the scenes look at the making of the song.

Here’s John Mayer trying to avoid paparazzi by singing sensually to the camera in a scene from his concert documentary Where the Light Is.

Get better soon John Mayer. We love you John Mayer.

“A case of the Adele’s” – does that phrase make any sense to you? Do you realize that’s a possessive? Do they teach grammar over at NYU Local or is it just like… a free for all?

A case of the Adeles, I like it. It also looks like he has come down with a serious case of the Conor Obersts; even his new album cover is reminiscent of a Bright Eyes album.
