If you’re still in town tomorrow at 7.50pm, a) I’m sorry and b) go see FIX at Village East Cinema. Shot by the actors with a hand camera, FIX documents the day-long effort to get one of the characters from jail to rehab by 8pm, raising $5,000 to pay for it along the way. Obviously, hijinks ensue and we get to see plenty of Olivia Wilde (who plays girlfriend Bella) looking hot and bemused.
Sol Tyron, one of the film’s producers, will be on hand for a discussion about independent film distribution after the movie, so Tischies with a penchant for the artsy would do well to stop by and ask if they’re totally screwed after graduation.

FIX is a great film that shows just how much can be done in the Indie world right now. With a low budget and the right attitude this movie is fresh and exciting… A must-see for anyone hoping to make movies post-recession!

I thought th film was amazing… I even went back to see it again and go with my friends! Totally enthraling and fast paced… not to mention hilarious and beautiful to look at (ANy photographers or cinematographers will really appreciate it). Too bad it’s only playing for another week and a half. GO SEE IT BEFORE IT’S TOO LATE! It’s one of the best films I’ve seen in the theater for a long time… Oh did I mention that the acting was good too?

I just saw FIX with an acquaintance who said he really enjoyed it, but felt like at the beginning it wasn’t clear whether or not it was really a documentary, or a fictional story that happened to feature the cameraman as a character. It hadn’t occurred to me (maybe because I knew a bit about the story going in), but I though it was interesting.
Also, I think considering that FIX is shot with a hand-held in a pretty organic way, it’s amazing how unique and gorgeous the framing is in some of the shots. But then I’m also a nerd who really appreciates that kind of thing.

The only thing more heartwarming than FIX’s story of brotherly love and support is the adorable bulldog that waddles its way onto the scene about halfway through the movie. The pup is only one of the memorable personalities the main characters meet during their exciting journey across Los Angeles. This movie is for anyone who loves adventure, heart, humor, and great filmmaking; in short, everyone. Go see it!

FIX is quite a ride!! A total blast–fast, fresh and very funny. Loved the handheld aesthetic! And the acting is really wonderful.Definitely catch it in cinemas while you still can–it’s the best way to see it!!

I just saw this film on Monday – at first wasn’t so sure if I liked it but by the end I didn’t want it to end. I have been to LA so many times but have never seen the city depicted like this in a film before. Plus Olivia and Shawn are amazing actors. It’s cool to see her talent shine through without make-up major over production, etc.
