CMJ Announces More Bands, Plus $200 Off Tickets for NYU Students

Escort the download.png” alt=”Picture 2″ width=”342″ height=”232″ />Yesterday CMJ added more bands to its official lineup, including one or two NYU bands that various Local contributors will be interviewing within the coming weeks. Student badges for the five day festival cost an exorbitant $275, which most college students are not willing (or able) to shell out for low profile bands. CMJ seems to have your back, though, offering an exclusive discount to all NYU students. If you enter access code NYUMM09 on this ticket order page, one of CMJ’s publicists has assured me that your tickets will cost just $75… not bad for a five day music festival, and definitely way more affordable (just be sure to have your NYU ID with you when you pick up the tickets). We’ll also be doing a free CMJ badge giveaway for Local readers closer to the event. After the jump, the new (and already crazy long) lineup.

  • [...] CMJ starts next week on October 20th, and with their schedule finally solidified, it’s looking like it’s going to be pretty freakin awesome. We here at NYU Local have been working tirelessly to snag a CMJ badge to give away to one lucky reader. But with ticket prices upwards of $75 for NYU students, we can’t just give it to you without asking for something in return. Luckily, that something comes in the form of an easily entered contest. Here’s the deal: In the comments, tell us your funniest, most outrageous experience at a concert– but, ya know, something that’s also within the limits of believable. For example, “and then God himself appeared” would not be a good line to perpetrate. Be clever, be smart, be funny, be original. Be specific: when and where did the show take place? Don’t talk about how you got so wasted you peed your pants before Kanye came on. The person with the story that the editors deem the funniest will be put on the list to pick up their CMJ badge this weekend. Obviously, you must be an NYU student to participate. Now get to story tellin’! Share [...]
