Tonight marks the return of the cult-favorite J.J. Abrams series Lost and NYU Junior Adam Schatz is leading festivities in honor of the show’s fifth season. Previously on Lost — Schatz’s nine piece psychedelic band whose songs recap every episode of the show. Gimmicky? Maybe. Fun? Almost definitely.

“This is going to be the Lost party of the century,” Schatz told Local today. “There will be plane crashes. There will leis. There will be a live recap of season 4 with a 9 piece band. And there will be Lost.”

Previously on Lost last least reminders start at 8 p.m. but the $1 cocktails start at 7, as does your chance to win the entire series thus far on DVD.

As for Schatz, he’s confident about his musical future. “We will keep on recapping, forever. Expect future recaps about Photosynthesis, the Oregon Trail computer program, the 2010 World Cup, and more.”

And tonight? “Dress tropical. It’s gonna be a long one.”
