Petition to Bury Rihanna’s “Good Girl Gone Bad”
“Rehab” is the eighth single from Rihanna’s 2007 album Good Girl Gone Bad. The first, of course, was the greatest song of all time, “Umbrella,” and in between we’ve seen a hodge podge including the ballad with Ne-Yo and that one inspired by a Shia Labeouf movie. Judging by this MOR video—despite featuring JT and being co-written by Timbaland—we need to call it an album.
I’ve always found Rihanna’s robotism oddly charming. Her hooks are as huge as her legs are long, and I also agree with Kanye when he said that it took Rihanna’s chart presence to get Queen B back on her game. And now we have “Single Ladies,” so everybody wins.
But a “reloaded” album re-release and a mediocre eighth single just points to desperation from Def Jam. They appear so happy to have a profitable artist—to have created a brand in this young islander—that they’re willing to dig deep into album filler and basically tarnish the product’s reputation in the process.
It’s like squeeeezing that last bit of toothpaste from the tube. You’re not getting a quality brushing out of that and at some point you have to just head back to the store.

Yeah, I agree. I mean, she’s already recording her new album, as evidenced by that god awful demo that leaked last week, so I don’t understand why they don’t just sit this round out and wait for a fresh batch of songs people aren’t already sick of.
Even if I could admire her legs for hours… *slap*
Also, I’m not convinced that the 4 words JT says in this song are even his voice. It sounds more like Timbaland, but I guess they needed some appetizing man meat for the video.
