The Star Wars-ization of Will.i.am
The second most important African American man last night may or may not even be a real person. Anyone glued to the CNN election coverage witnessed the surreal hologram technology the network employed, never more impressively than when Mr. “Yes We Can” himself made an, er, appearance? Gizmodo explains, but I’ll use all of this excess hope and faith and call it the work of God.

This was totally weird, along with the 3D hologram of the Capitol complete with rolling-out animations and floating portraits of senatorial candidates. I definitely paid more attention to the animations than to anything that was said. How come we don’t have those hologram machines at our journalism department?

I love Anderson Cooper. I especially love how he very tactfully corrected Will.i.am’s reference to Star Wars, and said, “Yes, like Star trek…” I also love that in the beginning of it he has no idea where to look.

I <3 CNN.
And Anderson Cooper.
