Remember that video of the white-collared police officer pepper spraying defenseless girls who were already trapped in a net? Well, it turns out that Anthony Bologna, the star of that viral youtube sensation, was caught on camera spraying another group of protestors the very same day. Again, he displays complete disregard for his own officers who are caught in the crossfire, and he sprays the demonstrators without any provocation.
After the last video became viral, NYPD spokesman Paul Browne defended Bologna’s actions saying, “Pepper spray was used once after individuals confronted officers and tried to prevent them from deploying a mesh barrier — something that was edited out or otherwise not captured in the video.”
More angles of the same incident were released proving that there was no provocation and that Browne had deceived the press, but the NYPD continued to stand by Bologna.
Hopefully, this second incident will force the city to take this matter more seriously. If you want to let the people in charge know that you’re not going to allow police brutality to silence your first amendment rights, here’s what you can do.
