City Calendar: CREED, Pillow Fight, BK Museum, Biggie + Tupac, Indie Band, Easter & More

*All events real except those marked with ridiculousness.

THURSDAY

  • College Democrats / College Republicans 2010 Debate @ Kimmel 808 — 7 p.m.
Watch NYU Republicans and Democrats (including NYU Local’s Luke Pattan) debate national debt and immigration policy. Cage match immediately afterwards.
  • April Fools Comedy Show @ Madison Square Garden Theater — 8 p.m.
Comedians Kevin Hart, Charlie Murphy, and more find humor during an otherwise depressing day.
  • Gallatin Lecture: Contemporary pranks in context – What is April Fools? @ Labowitz Theatre — 7 p.m.
Scratch your chin and drink cheap wine while contemplating the meaning of April Fools in your life, and more importantly, how it affects modern perceptions of consumerism.
  • Generic Indie Band @ Overpriced Venue in Lower Manhattan — 8 p.m.
That one band that plays that one song is playing at that one place you used to go to. Just when you were wondering how you should spend that spare $25.

FRIDAY

  • NY International Auto Show @ Javits Convention Center — 11 a.m. (through 4/11)
I never really got into the car scene, but I do love hanging out with convention-goers.
  • Temper Trap @ Webster Hall — 8 p.m.
The (500) Days of Summer band is playing in our area, but that doesn’t mean Zooey Deschanel will be there. Quick! Find a cute, witty girl that enjoys destroying your emotions.
  • Spontaneous “Only in New York” Moment @ TBA, but eventually on your Facebook — TBD
Finally, some spontaneous event that I can put on my Facebook to make all my friends who go to “real college” jealous.
  • Creed + P.O.D. @ Madison Square Garden — 7 p.m. (SOLD OUT)
This show sold out about 8 months ago, but that’s not stopping any of us Creedophiles!

SATURDAY

  • 3rd Annual International Pillow Fight Day @ Union Square — 3 p.m.
Hit people with pillows to release all your angst about Dan’s firing.
  • Target First Saturday @ Brooklyn Museum — 9 p.m.
On a serious note, a great monthly event you should consider attending. On a less serious note: poopy.
  • Armin Van Buuren @ Roseland Ballroom — 8 p.m.
The famous Dutch trance DJ invades America. I always knew the Dutch would take back New York someday.
