Good night to die a download.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/10/ISFF-poster-2009s.jpg” alt=”ISFF” width=”200″ height=”300″ />Nothing says New York City like an innovative film festival, right? Alexis Gambis, partially of Gothamist fame, seemed to agree when he thought up the Imagine Science Film Festival, now in its second year and running until next week in various locations throughout the city. Also, Gambis happens to be one of the TA’s for my NatSci II: Molecules of Life class! Holla.
So when he’s not making all the girls in my class swoon with his mysterious foreign origins and winning smile, he’s organizing a really cool film festival designed to connect the left side of the brain with the right.
Opening night this Thursday will cost you $15, but it promises to be full of nerdy stories about love, anatomy and robots. The ten short films run the gamut from sad to silly, and can all boast intelligent directors who fact check the scientific roots of their narratives. It also features music from the band Love Like Deloreans.
The rest of the ten days are equally varied and stimulating, including a free screening this Sunday of kid-friendly shorts about time travel and penguins. Check out the website for times and locations, and definitely go to support a cool TA and his lofty artistic vision, not to mention science.

This is like a dream come true.
