Yesterday, Crumbs gave out 1,000 free cupcakes in honor of Election Day, and depending on which cupcake most people chose (Obama or McCain), the folks at Crumbs were able to conduct an unscientific, yet very delicious, poll of which neighborhoods preferred which candidate. Well, surprise! – The Obama cupcakes won by a landslide! Below is the breakdown from early yesterday, thanks to Gothamist:
- East Side – Obama – 50, McCain – 20
- West Side – Obama – 92, McCain – 23
- Union Square – Obama 74, McCain – 8
- Madison – Obama 9, McCain – 2
- Wall Street – Obama 15, McCain 4
- Village – Obama 26, McCain – 9
- Lexington – Obama – 27, McCain – 9
And here’s an extra tidbit: Crumbs confirmed that they will be providing 1,000 free cupcakes this Friday for their first customers, so get in bright and early to grab some sprinkly-topped goodness!
