Brooklyn Kickball’s 5th Annual Kick “BALL”:

Yes, there is a Brooklyn Kickball team, and tonight they’re hosting a kind of hipster “prom” for their players and fans. Formal attire is required, though with all the free-flowing alcohol that is promised, it’s unclear how formal the night will be at the end.
SATURDAY 9/20/08:
Brooklyn County Fair:
12 – 5 pm, Bartel-Pritchard Circle (intersection of Prospect Park West and Prospect Park Southwest), Free
You can pretend for a few hours that you don’t live in New York City with tye-dying and pie eating contests, free apples, food from Park Slope restaurants (not free), and live music from Balthrop, Alabama, The Birdhive Boys, and Rocketship Park.
Circus Amok:
2 pm and 5 pm, Washington Square Park, Free

Governor’s Island Art Fair
10 am – 7 pm, Governor’s Island, Free
The ferry is free, the art exhibits are free, and you can even rent a bike for free! “”Sound installation, outdoor sculpture, and portraits created on site are just a few of the artistic items of interest awaiting visitors” tot this fair organized entirely by artists. Over 40 of New York City’s best independent artists unite on the island for the affair, showcasing hundreds of new works.”
