The old building that will be converted into Trader Joe’s.
According to the Brooklyn Paper, Trader Joe’s is supposed to open on September 26th (only 10 days away!) on Atlantic Avenue and Court Street, sort of near the 4-5 Borough Hall stop or the A-C-G Hoyt-Schermerhorn stop!
I’ll be honest with you. My initial worry about moving to Brooklyn was that it would take too long to get to class. My second worry was that I would be too far away from Trader Joe’s. For all of last year, I would trudge the twelve or so long blocks from Trader Joe’s to Second Street dorm, sometimes in the rain, with big environmentally safe paper bags that would inevitably break in my arms somewhere around 8th street. But it was worth it, every time.
I don’t care if this is the latest step in the gentrification of Brooklyn…I just want one of those big $2 bins of chocolatey cats (if you don’t know what I’m talking about, you haven’t been to Trader Joe’s as much as I have. Which you probably haven’t.)
